For warm-up on Thursday, we looked at some of the paintings of

for inspiration in expressing spatial and emotional experiences with a limited formal palette. Be sure to look at more of his work and the manner in which he uses of simple shapes to convey complex ideas.

Hello and Welcome

Fall 2010
The semester has begun! If you are new to the Art Metals and Jewelry course, I would like to point out some of the more useful features on this blog.

First of all, to the right, and a little bit down, of this post, you will find links in the Metalworking Supplies and Materials list. Those links will take you directly to the websites of the various suppliers where you can either place orders or get maps, etc. Use it! Secondly, if you are burning with curiosity about prior projects, scroll down to earlier posts to see slide shows of some excellent student work.

There are also some old posts with illustrated how-tos in the posts below. Keep following the blog for lists of artists we talk about in class and updates on what is going on in the world of metal.
